Assume its something in the transmission falling into place. Never had an issue with either transmission, and fluid in Civic was recently done no issue seen there.

The clicking noise sounds a lot like a transmission problem to me, most likely a problem with the reverse gear if you don’t hear it when shifting to other gears. It could get worse too as the bum reverse gear could start to damage other parts of your transmission. If you can afford to get it fixed/looked at it I’d suggest doing so right away.

We also drained the transmission fluid and changed the transmission filter yesterday to see if that would help. I have been good about tune ups and oil changes but honestly, I do not think I have ever had my transmission fluid flushed or changed. One last question. In the past few days, sometimes when I shift, mostly from 2nd to 3rd (sometimes 1st to 2nd or 4th to 5th) at ~2500-3000 rpm, it will have some “click” sound right after/when I change the gear, followed by another “click” sound a second after the gear is changed.

Poul B. Hi, Poul. Aside from being a transmission problem, it could also be your constant velocity (CV) joints.The CV joints might be worn and need a new boot or even replacement of the entire part. Or it could also be your motor mounts.The motor mounts could be worn and your engine isn’t well secured to the crossmember, causing the clunking sound.
